With their elegant appeal and iconic luxury design, Jo Anne Howell of Oh Goodie Designs + Events has concocted the home-grown brands' latest popular product. Today, the event planner produces bath, bar, and cooking salts for local events, retailers, and consumers.

Oh Goodie Designs + Events began how so many Corpus-based craft businesses do — as a small venture startup. What started as an in-home party favor and party planning company grew into planning weddings, birthdays, showers, and corporate events, both large and small.

At the end of 2020, Jo Anne recalls how the creation of her salts came to be.

"I had made some winter bath and cooking salts for an event favor," Howell shares. "The reaction was incredible from the guests, so I just thought, ‘Well, I can keep making these!’”

Soon after, she was contacted by local boutique Wildflowers to create flavors for them. Unsurprisingly, her first delivery sold out in two days. This niche collective discovery quickly developed a keen interest that continues to sell out. As Oh Goodie’s unique brand of salt became a local sensation, other local businesses began to notice. It didn’t take long for Oh Goodie’s sea salts to become the salt of choice for cocktails, party favors, and more. Motivated and inspired, Howell continues to create new salt collections and seasonal flavors.

"I dream of flavors at night and then wake up and create them," says Howell. "It's a lot of trial and error, but I love developing recipes; it just comes naturally."
